The other way

I used to live on the 32nd floor of an apartment in Brooklyn with an unobstructed view, facing east, and was convinced that there couldn’t be anything better than seeing the sunrise from up there every morning. There was nothing I loved more than going to sleep with the blinds up, windows completely exposed, so the splashes of orange and red and sometimes even purple would bounce into my room in the morning and wake me up with a light show, shadows and silhouettes gliding along my walls and ceilings…

I don’t live in Brooklyn anymore and I don’t face east. But my view is still unobstructed and I’m surprised to report that I have quickly changed my mind to prefer watching the sunset every evening through my window.

My point is that people can and will change their minds, quite easily, even when it comes to something they love. And that’s cool.
