Nostalgia
Day 132
Insadong, Seoul, South Korea
“In a different life, my childhood was here. I would have learned how to be someone from this place, speaking the language and creating bonds with the people and places around me. Now, years later from a parallel place, a different life, some blurry nostalgia keeps bringing me back here over and over again. It’s only by coming back so many times that I finally realize that this nostalgia might not be based on actual memories but instead, some curious longing because of the memories. And now I can’t tell if I’ve been trying to make my way back or if I’ve been trying to never come back. I can’t tell if I’m homesick for this place or if I’m trying to escape it.”
