Relatively Good
There was a time when I used to get paid to take photos like these. I never knew what I was doing and I never really enjoyed this kind of work. I never knew anything about fashion, I never understood what made a piece of clothing look good or bad. If I’m honest about it, I really had no business being anywhere near fashion photography, it all kind of happened by accident. Luckily I met stylists who led the way and brought me along.
Despite doing it for years, I never got very good at fashion photography (how could you possibly get good at something you have no interest in?) but I don’t think I was too terrible either and that’s kind of something to hang my hat on, right? Sort of? I’ve had my work published by some reputable establishments, so those photos will likely live on in some archive.
I hope when people who are interested in fashion stumble upon my work in the future, they can confidently say, “I’ve seen worse on occasion.”
